Aprende Cantando is mainly a blog for my students so they can get a feel of the richness and the varied types of music across the Spanish-speaking world. There are 21 nations where Spanish is the national language. The United States has now more Spanish-speakers than in Spain alone. I don't post top hits necessarily. I choose songs that are easy to sing, or have good lyrics or they are relevant culturally or socially. A language is closely link to its culture or, in the case of Spanish, cultures.  There are some songs in other languages.   

Useful learning tips:

• Songs are an excellent learning resource.
• Singing will improve your fluency.
• You will become familiar with the different varieties of Spanish; each countries has a particular accent or accents.
• It will help you to master 'difficult sounds'.
• You will learn new vocabulary and idiomatic expressions.
• You can also practice verbs tenses: past, present and future.
