LA CIRCUNSTANCIA (Edson Velancia)
Aunque me lastime la circunstancia,
si te vas te vas, si te vas te vas.
Aunque el corazón se me paralice,
si me da me da, si me da me da.
Que es un privilegio morir de amor,
si la vida casi no vale nada.
Que es hasta bonito perderte así,
por tu voluntad y tu parecer.
Por favor no sientas pena por mí
que yo me acomodo a la circunstancia.
Si te vas, te vas...
Aunque no me aceptes el desayuno,
si no es más no es más, si no es más no es más.
Aunque la memoria se te confunda,
si te da te da, si te da te da.
Si querés te ayudo a empacar maleta
mientras que te alistas y te acicalas.
Si querés te llevo hasta el terminal
pa'decirte adiós por última vez.
Sabes que yo adoro verte contenta
aunque me lastime la circunstancia.
Si te vas, te vas...
PARIENTE (GUILTY MEN)
(Latin American Film Festival in Australia - 2018)
The directorial debut of Iván Gaona, Guilty Men is a nail-biting thriller set in Santander, Colombia in 2005 – a time when paramilitary groups were beginning to disarm but acts of violence were still occurring sporadically.
René (René Diaz Calderón) announces his decision to marry his beloved Mariana (Leidy Herrera), although a little earlier than expected in an undisguised attempt to avoid a childbirth occurring outside of marriage. Meanwhile, Willington (Willington Gordillo Duarte) – Mariana’s DJ ex – watches jealously from the sidelines. Both men are caught up in illegal dealings that take place in the quiet of the night, the money being particularly crucial for René in seeing his wedding plans come to fruition.
Events escalate when a paramilitary-type figure steps into the picture, wearing a helmet that ominously conceals his identity. What follows is an adrenaline-inducing game of hide-and-seek set in a sugarcane field, which acts as testament to Gaona’s burgeoning skill in creating and maintaining tense scenarios.
Part love triangle, part thriller, Guilty Men is brimming with intrigue and deadly consequences for power-hungry exploits.
