NANA A MARTÍ -Song by Anna Colom (2023)(A lullaby for Marti)
Ea, La Nana.
(no despiertes)
The fandango originated in Portugal and Spain. It can
be both sung and danced. The dance is an expression of passion, and the
partners tease, challenge, and pursue each other with steps and gestures. In Latin America the fandango is present in
the cultures of Colombia, Brazil and Mexico, among others. In Spain, the
fandango is a style that is common in various regions of Spain, such as Huelva,
Malaga, Granada, and others.
The “Fandangos de
las Indias” preserve the flamenco roots of the fandango of Huelva but is also
impregnated with the flavor of the Huasteco son and the fandango of Veracruz
(Mexico), is an attempt to highlight and pay homage to the link between both
cultures.
Anna Colom is a multitalented Spanish vocalist and
songwriter. Born in Barcelona (1985). In
the year 2023, Anna Colom launched her debut album, “Cayana,” to critical
acclaim. The album pays homage to the roots of Flamenco by showcasing the
traditional Flamenco repertoire, which has been heavily influenced by Iberian
folk music traditions, Latin American music, and African rhythms. “Cayana” is a
sensational embodiment of Colom’s musical journey, and her splendid performance
is a testament to her passion and hard work.
